Mr. Balian's representation of the firm's clients primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, litigation matters, personnel issues, general contract drafting and negotiation, charter and field of membership issues, as well as insurance coverage matters and general service mark registration and related issues. Mr. Balian's litigation skills and experience have been extensively utilized by the firm's clients.


Mr. Balian received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Riverside. He attended University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated with distinction in May, 1995. He was admitted to the California bar in 1995.

Mr. Balian joined Styskal, Wiese & Melchione, LLP in 1998 and became a partner in 2005. Prior to joining Styskal, Wiese & Melchione, LLP, Mr. Balian was an associate at a boutique litigation firm where he focused on business ligation and representing closely held corporations.

Mr. Balian has received an A/V Preeminent rating, the highest peer ranking awarded for professional excellence and ethical standards. He is licensed to practice in the State of California, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and before the California Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California.
