About Raza Ali

Raza Ali is a Partner at SW&M and the leader of the Compliance and Risk practice groups. Prior to joining the team, Raza served as an Infantry Squad Leader in the United States Army. After serving, he attended graduate school where he became inspired to go to law school. During his time in law school, he acted as the Associate Editor of the Journal of International Law.

After almost two decades in the legal field, Raza “strive[s] to remain abreast of changes within the financial services industry, as well as trends in class action lawsuits targeting financial institutions to provide services that remain relevant and innovative as the industry evolves. [His goal is] to provide clients with actionable advice related to the myriad of laws, regulations and regulatory guidance that apply to their businesses and navigate a path that best minimizes risk and serves their business purposes.”

Raza’s expertise in compliance has been recognized by various organizations including the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) who invite him to speak at their conferences and schools. When he’s not practicing or presenting, Raza spends his time with his wife and daughter surfing, hiking and grilling carne asada.
