About Tim Oppelt

Tim Oppelt is a Partner and the head of SW&M’s Corporate Governance and Chartering practice groups. With his over 15 years of experience in financial institution law, Tim advises all practice groups within the firm and is considered to be SW&M’s “jack of all trades.” Complex and unusual problems often find order and their solutions in his hands.

Whether he is helping a client build their organization from the ground up, or he is producing innovative strategies for them, his diverse skill set makes him an invaluable asset to the team. He is often invited by national organizations to speak at events, conferences and training courses geared towards senior executives. While at SW&M, Tim has co-produced a variety of educational manuals on topics such as information security, board meeting procedures and mergers.

Outside of the office, Tim can be found playing strategy games, building Legos (sometimes even with his children), enjoying a nice Pinot Noir and improving his home and garden.
