About Tim Oppelt

Tim Oppelt’s representation of financial institutions, particularly credit unions, spans a wide range of novel and nuanced areas where understanding the full scope of an organization is vital to success. He leads the firm’s Corporate Governance and Chartering practice groups and advises on all areas within the firm including Derivatives, Regulatory Examinations, Field of Membership, and Cyber Incident Response. Whether he is helping a client build their organization from the ground up, or he is producing innovative strategies for them, his diverse skill set makes him an invaluable asset to the team.

He is often invited to speak at national conferences, trainings, and events for senior executives, compliance professionals, and attorneys. While at SW&M, Tim has co-produced several educational manuals on topics such as information security, board meeting procedures, and mergers.

Outside of the office, Tim can be found playing strategy games, building Legos (sometimes even with his children), savoring a nice Pinor Noir, and working on home and garden improvement projects.
