About Joseph Garibyan

Joseph Garibyan is a Partner at SW&M and leads the firm’s Commercial Lending, Privacy and Cybersecurity and Bankruptcy practice groups. Joseph is also a member of the firm’s Compliance practice group. Prior to joining SW&M, Joseph served as General Counsel for a Los Angeles based nationally-chartered bank where he gained valuable experience in a wide variety of banking matters. Joseph had oversight over the bank’s regulatory compliance; commercial loan documentation and negotiation; real estate leases, acquisitions and divestitures; bankruptcy, loan workouts and special assets management; contract negotiations and vendor management; and litigation management. Joseph also served as litigation attorney for a well-regarded law firm known for its national bankruptcy, real estate and financial litigation practice which included consumer class action litigation defense.

Joseph has earned his reputation as a problem solver for SW&M through his hard work and commitment to clients. In his personal life, Joseph is a dedicated “hubby” and “papa” of two children – titles Joseph is most proud of. Joseph enjoys vacationing with his wife and kids and entertaining friends and family on the weekends at his home. Joseph is an avid grill master in Armenian BBQ and he is highly accomplished in chess and various forms of martial arts.
