About Bill Adler

Bill Adler serves as Senior Counsel leading SW&M’s Executive Compensation and Corporate Governance practice groups. Bill joined the firm in 1984 as a law clerk and became a Partner only four years later. Before embarking on a legal career, Bill was a CPA at a Big 4 accounting firm.

Bill assists financial institutions at the top levels of their organization. He understands that our clients are faced with business decisions in high-risk environments and has honed his own skills to assist boards, supervisory committees and audit committees through legal and regulatory challenges, including sensitive governance and human resource matters. Additionally, Bill continues to work closely with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and various state regulators to resolve conflicts and move forward credit unions’ strategic goals.

For the past 30+ years, Bill has donated his time and wisdom to mentor the SW&M team and future credit union executives through Western Credit Union Management School. In addition, Bill regularly contributes his time to various organizations that create solutions for individuals and families in need of assistance with life’s necessities. Time permitting, Bill enjoys improving his home and garden as well as cheering for his favorite baseball and college football teams. The rare times Bill is out of the office, you might find him fishing in the Pacific.
